Why New Zealand

New Zealanders dignify themselves in their country, culturally and educationally. When students arrive in this country they will be welcomed by the warm nature of its multi ethnic background that lives in relative harmony. The country is becoming cosmopolitan and one will not find it difficult to live and mix with the people.

The main reason for choosing New Zealand and its Universities and Institutes of Technologies as a base is the safe environment and the quality education those Universities and Institutes of Technologies provide. New Zealand is a country that prides itself on its excellence in teaching and research and is breeding world class thinkers. Although, to us in the Arab world we are aware of its halal meat and dairy products, education was never part of the equation when we dealt with New Zealand, thus Education Zone is here to change this image and will strive to send our children to a safer and more meaningful country to be educated.

In the year 2005 the number of International students who chose to study in New Zealand was over 70,000.

The quality of education in New Zealand is excellent and the education institutes are diverse in size and location and the degrees are internationally recognised and are monitored by the NEW ZEALAND QUALIFICATIONS AUTHORITY and the VICE CHANCELLOR'S COMMITTEE OF THE UNIVERSITY. The students can work part time, 20 hrs a week if the course is of 2 years or more duration and if they are enrolled for Post Graduate courses. They can work full time during vacations however they must apply for a variation of their Visa

New Zealand Universities and Institutes of Technologies offer more than 3000 programmes with a wide range of Certificates, Diplomas, Degrees and Postgraduate programs in subjects ranging from Accounting, Aviation, Engineering to Bioinformatics, Mechatronics and Hospitality.

New Zealand is more affordable with the cost of living and education comparing well with other countries. International students can choose from private or public sector educational institutions.

Fees vary from NZ $ 7,000 to $ 22,000 per annum. The cost of living varies from place to place but on an average you would need NZ $ 8,000 - $ 11,000 per annum for food, rent and basic transport, homestay can also be arranged.

New Zealand 's climate is pleasant with average temperatures ranging from 8°C in July to 23°C in January, the further north you go the warmer it gets. Summer is from November to March, autumn from March to June, winter from June to September and spring from September to November.

Students from overseas are welcome in New Zealand as the locals are famous for their warm hospitality. New Zealand offers a very attractive lifestyle apart from providing INTERNATIONAL STANDARD OF EDUCATION it is a beautiful country with a very large range of recreational activities.

PHD Programme

Two Years Ago New Zealand announced that international students can go for PHD paying domestic students fees which is 10000 dirhams. I thought this was common knowledge; last night I found out that its not a knowledge that people have, and by just mentioning it to this brilliant Architect  she jumped off her seat.  So I decided to announce it again.  The package can be found by clicking this link www.auckland.ac.nz/uoa/home/for/international-students/phd-study-options and this http://www.victoria.ac.nz/modernletters/student-help/international-students.aspx or any other NZ university website.

University of Aberyswyth challange

We are looking for a selection of 2010 Freshers to produce a number of video blogs (vBlogs) to showcase their thoughts, feelings and experiences in the lead up to the Freshers’ Week, arriving in Aberystwyth and the exciting times which follow. These will be published on the Aberystwyth University website, and will be available for anyone to watch.

vBlogs were trialed last year, gaining a successful online following with over 6000 video views. This could soon be you! You’ll be presented with your very own video camera to help you in this task, and if you have editing skills, we’ll also give you video editing software, although the ability to edit your own vBlogs isn’t essential.

Want to be part of these exciting new videos? All we want you to do is create a 30 second vBlog about ANYTHING you want. This can be recorded on a webcam or a video camera. Prior experience of vBlogging isn’t essential, and all applications will be considered… here’s what we’re looking for:

• The ability to entertain
• To be free to start blogging up to a week before you arrive
• A willingness to film experiences upon arrival
• Someone who can visually communicate their feelings about studying at university
• Dedication and motivation

If your vBlog impresses us, we’ll want you to start blogging prior to your arrival in Aberystwyth, and we’ll ship your new video camera out to you!

If you think you’ve got what it takes to make insightful, entertaining vBlogs, simply email your 30-second vBlog to rzm@aber.ac.uk by 6th September. Don’t forget to include your name, email address, what course you will be studying and if you have any video editing skills.

Winners will be notified by email and announced on Facebook on Friday 10th September.

Robert Gordon University- The Times Good University Guide 2011

I'm delighted to inform you that Robert Gordon University(http://www.rgu.ac.uk/) has performed extremely well in The Times Good University Guide 2011, published today.  We have come 46th overall, the first time we have appeared in the top 50 of this league table.  What is particularly pleasing is that we are the only modern university to appear in the top 50.

And this is the third year in a row that we have been the top modern University in the UK in The Times Good University Guide.  A key factor in our success is our record in graduate-level employment which was again excellent.
